One Direction-FOUR Review

One Direction-FOUR Review

One Direction’s newest album, cleverly titled, FOUR, is the British/Irish band’s fourth studio album. With some slow ballads such as “Spaces”, or loud songs that are likely to have your parents tell you to turn down the volume such as “Clouds”, FOUR is an interesting mix of songs, most of them written by the members of this boyband, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan. Starting with “Steal My Girl”, the lead single of the new album with a loud piano intro, “Steal My Girl” describes having other boys try to take the love of a girl that you are dating, shown by the lyrics”Everybody wants to steal my girl, everybody wants to take her heart away.”

Other notable songs in this album include “Girl Almighty”, which is a fast, fun song, and another single one the album, “Night Changes”. This is a slow song. In the music video, the viewers get to “go on a date” with each member of the band, such as an Italian restaurant with Zayn, a carnival with Liam, ice skating with Harry, a night in with Niall, and a drive with Louis. The dates end up going terribly wrong when Zayn gets spaghetti dumped on his head, Liam throws up on the viewer, Harry breaks his arm, Niall sets himself on fire, and Louis gets arrested. More favorites from this album include “No Control,” “Stockholm Syndrome”, and “Act My Age.” Coming from bubblegum- pop Up All Night, and Take Me Home, a fan favorite, and the more rock-ish Midnight Memories, FOUR is certainly an awesome album.
