“Boku no Hero Academia” is an anime that was originally a manga written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi. In the fall of 2015, the anime was announced on Twitter. It is a Shounen anime meaning that it revolves around a young boy. In the show, almost 80% of the population has a quirk which is something like a superpower. A young boy named Izuku Midoriya wants to have a quirk. He strives to be like his favorite hero, All Might. All Might is the number one hero and Izuku wants to surpass him. When Izuku was about 5, he went to the doctor to find out what his quirk was. He found out he didn’t have a quirk. He got bullied by people who had quirks. During middle school, Izuku found All Might. Izuku talked to him and found out his secret. Walking home another day, All Might came down to him and passed on his power, “One for All” because he saw the boy’s passion. Izuku works hard to make his new power his own. He attends U.A. High to train to become a hero and fight villains.

“Boku no Hero Academia” is now the second most popular anime below “One Piece.” Boku no Hero Academia currently has three seasons and the fourth season comes out in 2019. As well as the manga and anime, Bandai Namco Entertainment released two games and a movie. The first game entitled “My Hero Academia: Battle for All” was released on May 19, 2016. The game is only available on the Nintendo 3Ds. “My Hero One’s Justice” is the second game that was released recently, on August 23, 2018. The second game is available on PlayStation 4, the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. The film, “My Hero Academia,” was released in August in Japan and were in theaters near the end of September this year in the United States and Canada. Boku no Hero Academia continues to attract new people and become a fan favorite.
