Mrs. Johns Field Trip

Mrs. Johns Field Trip

Camille Williams, Writer

About a week ago, Mrs. Johns’ second grade class took a field trip to the Santa Ana Zoo. Students learned about animals, animal habitats, and a myriad of information. Some animals the children saw were monkeys, elephants, camels, anteaters, bald eagles, and much more. Multiple activities the children did included a maze, tour, play time on a playground, and driving a “jeep”.  After learning all about the animals, the children had a pop quiz to see who remembered the most about the animals. Along with all these fun activities, everyone got a turn in the petting zoo! Here, the kids got to pet some animals including sheep, goats, and pigs. After getting all of this information, I asked the kids a few questions.

One of the questions I asked was what their favorite animal was that they saw on the trip.  These were some of their responses: Teddy said the spider monkeys, while Kate liked camels, but Vincent loved everything.  After this, I asked the kids one final question, “ Would you go back to this zoo?” All of the kids replied, “Yes!” Overall the kids had a great experience and fun, TIGERific adventure.
