Mrs. Chung’s Book Club

For the past few months, Mrs. Chung’s class has been doing book clubs. This is where everyone in the class are allowed to choose as many books, which happens to be as they want to read and talk about with friends. Last month, in January, the “Chunglings” have chosen the top books that everyone else wants to read and talk about. These are some of the most popular books that were read that month:
The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure, the famous sequels to The Maze Runner, now a major-motion picture about boys who were placed in the Glade and lost their memories
The Wishing Spell, The Enchantress Returns, and A Grimm Warning, the trilogy authored by a famous actor who stars in Glee, Chris Colfer about two “normal” twins in a strange new world
Wonderstruck, a book half filled with pictures and half filled with words about the lives of two people in almost completely different lifetimes that interchange in strange ways
The Selection, The Elite, and The One, the trilogy of a prince and a whole lot of girls, including already-in-love America Singer
The Lost Hero, the first book of the second series of Percy Jackson, including The Great Prophecy of seven demigods and the fall of the world
The Lightning Thief, the first book to the Percy Jackson series, narrated by Percy Jackson himself
The Finisher, one of the first childrens’ books by David Baldacci about Vegas and the world outside of her small city
The second and third book to the Spirit Animals series, Hunted and Blood Ties continuing the tale of the four Erdasians who embark on a journey with their powerful companions to save Erdas
Atlantia, by the author of the Matched series, Ally Condie, about a siren and her sister living in Atlantia
Bad Magic, about a boy who goes to a mysterious island that seems to be following the plotline of a Shakespeare play, by the hilarious Pseudonymous Bosch, author of The Name of this Book is Secret
The Red Pyramid, by famous author Rick Riordan about the Kanes and the egyptian gods
Allegiant, about Tris and the world outside Colorado, by new author Veronica Roth, the third book of her outrageous series Divergent
Catching Fire, the bloodthirsty sequel to The Hunger Games when Katniss is back in the games
The School for Good and Evil, a vast twist to the world of good and evil
The Hobbit, the old novel by J.R.R. Tolkien, now three major-motion pictures about a journey to save the dwarfs and conquer a dragon
The most popular books were the Scorch Trials and the Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer. The top 3 readers who read the most books were Lauren Owen, who read 19 of the books, Ashley Chen, who read 14, and Grace Owen, who also read 14.
